Supportive Campus Culture

Upon entering our program, youth become part of a cohesive, supportive, dynamic community of peers and highly qualified staff. FMA embraces youth with a wide spectrum of needs and ensures that each one experiences belonging in an encouraging, nurturing treatment milieu. Our program provides trauma informed care with targeted treatment and interventions specific to the individual risks and needs of each youth.

Family Engagement

FMA is committed to engaging families and the community in each young woman’s treatment and progress. Families are invited to participate in family therapy, activities, and special events to promote positive interaction. Parents are also included in their child’s monthly treatment team meetings. Where distance and barriers exist, we assist families by providing video conferencing. Through regular family visitation days, graduation ceremonies, and holiday parties, we encourage families to participate in their child’s academic and personal growth.

Health and Wellness

Each youth will develop an Individual Wellness Plan to establish their own goals for health, fitness, solitary leisure, competitive activity and pro-social group experiences. Youth are encouraged to participate in both active and passive pursuits to improve coping skills and learn healthy ways to enjoy leisure time.

Treatment and Counseling

Clinical services are provided by master’s level mental health professionals. All therapists work under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Director with JSO certification. Modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to target goals identified in the treatment plan. All youth receive the following:
• Life Skills Training
• Impact of Crime
• Substance Abuse treatment
• Skill Streaming the Adolescent
• Family Systems Therapy

Transition Support

Each young woman’s Transition Plan is individually prescribed to support her in leading a productive life upon returning to the community.
Transition Plan services include education, family/relational supports, mental health and substance use linkage, recreational activities, spiritual/cultural support systems, living arrangements, and medical needs.
